About This Call
528.0 Denver is a regional juried printmaking exhibition open to artists residing within a 528-mile radius of Denver. The eligible geographic region includes Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico, northwest Arizona (including Flagstaff), far northwest Texas (including Amarillo, Lubbock, and Wichita Falls), Oklahoma west of Tulsa, the southwest quarter of North Dakota (including Bismarck and Dickinson), southeastern Montana (including Bozeman and Billings), southeastern Idaho (including Idaho Falls and Pocatello), and Iowa (including Sioux City and Council Bluffs).
Eligible artworks must be hand-pulled prints created with intaglio, lithography, relief, silkscreen, or experimental methods. Digital reproductions and photography are not accepted. Artwork measurements may not exceed 36 x 36 inches when framed. Artists may submit up to 3 pieces for a $30 application fee. The exhibition runs February 1-28, 2013, with an opening reception on February 1st.
Prize selections will be made anonymously. $2,400 in total prize money will be distributed, including one $1,000 Sue Cannon Award for excellence in printmaking and fourteen $100 Jurors' Choice awards (two selected by each of the seven jurors). Jurors include Michael Chavez, Jill Downy, Ivar Zeile, Viviane Le Courtois, Shaurya Kumar, Barbara O'Brien, and Mark Mazuoka. Artists will be notified of acceptance by December 15, 2012. All shipping costs to and from the gallery are the artist's responsibility. Sale proceeds will be paid to the artist within 30 days of the end of the show.
