50th Annual Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Exhibition

The Rocky Mountain National Watermedia (RMNW) exhibition, in its 50th year, is presented by Center for the Arts Evergreen (CAE) in Evergreen, Colorado. RMNW attracts entrants and jurors from throughout the United States and is regarded as one of the top watermedia exhibitions in the country. This show traditionally offers more than $10,000 in cash awards. The 2023 jurors are Ken & Stephanie Goldman, internationally acclaimed painters and husband-wife duo who hold signature status in National Watercolor Society (NWS), American Watercolor Society (AWS), and Watercolor Honor Society (WHS).

Eligibility is open to all artists residing in the United States. Each artist may enter up to 3 paintings for consideration, though accepted artists will have only 1 original painting hanging in the exhibition. Paintings must consist of water media on watercolor paper, watercolor canvas, watermedia boards, or panels. Water media includes watercolor, acrylic, water-based mediums, ink, gouache, casein, egg tempera, watercolor pencil, and watercolor crayon. All works must be at least 90% water media. Alcohol inks, water soluble oils, oil, pastel, and other non-aqueous media are not allowed. Artwork must have been painted in the last two years and may not have been shown previously at Center for the Arts Evergreen. Minimum image size is 8" x 10"; maximum frame size is 40" x 60". No glass is permitted; plexiglas only. All paintings must be available for sale during the exhibition; CAE retains a 40% commission on all art sales.

Entry deadline is May 15, 2023. Entry fee is $40 for 2 images; a third image may be submitted for an additional $10 media fee. Exhibition dates are September 21 – October 28, 2023. Juror selections will be announced June 23, 2023. Ken & Stephanie Goldman will each teach a 1-day Master Workshop on August 2-3, 2023, and Ken will offer a free demonstration on August 1.
