50th Annual Regional Juried Art Exhibition and Sale

The Richardson Civic Art Society (RCAS) invites amateur and professional Texas artists, age 18 and over, to submit work for the 50th Annual Regional Juried Art Exhibition and Sale. The exhibition will be on display April 28 through May 30, 2016 at the Charles W. Eisemann Center in Richardson, Texas.

Eligibility: Artwork must be original, executed after April 1, 2014 without instructor supervision, and must not have been previously accepted in any RCAS Regional Shows. Work must not be copies of artwork or photographs by others, and must not include nudes, conspicuously religious, or blatantly political statements. Accepted categories are Oil/Acrylic on Canvas or Hard Surface, Water Media on Paper, Collage/Mixed Media, and Pastels/Graphics. No sculpture, computer art, photographs, shadow boxes, or assemblage. Graphics are limited to charcoals, pen & ink, colored & graphite pencils, crayons, woodcuts, etchings, and hand pulled prints. Multiple painting series must be in separate frames and will be judged individually.

Size Requirements: Minimum 10 inches on shortest side (not including mat and frame); maximum overall frame height or width is 42 inches and must be less than 2 inches deep. Only two-dimensional art accepted. Selected art must be dry and framed professionally using D-rings and wire. For matted work, outer mat must be white or buff. Watercolor and fragile media must be under Plexiglas. Gallery wrapped canvas acceptable with painted edges. Collage build-ups must not exceed 1/4 inch.

Entry Fees: Non-members $25 for one piece, $15 for each additional piece (three pieces total for $55). RCAS members receive 30% discount. Submit 1-3 images via callforentry.org in JPEG format, minimum 1920 pixels on longest side, 72 ppi, maximum 5 MB. Acceptance notifications will be emailed March 25, 2016. Awards Reception: May 15, 2016, 7:00-9:00 pm at the Eisemann Center. Approximately $7,000 in cash and merchandise awards available, including RCAS Best of Show (Purchase Award) $1,500 and Judge's Choice Award $500. Juror: Michael Holter, NWS, SWS, SWA. Hand-delivered entries received April 26, 2016, 6:00-8:30 pm; shipped entries received April 15-22, 2016. A 15% commission to the Eisemann Center and 20% commission to RCAS is required on all sales.
