50 Years, 50 Artists: A Celebration of the West

WESTAF invites artists in the Western region to submit artwork for an online exhibition celebrating the organization's 50-year milestone. The theme explores the concept of time—whether in the past, present, or future—including interpretations of memory, history, and evolution. Artists are encouraged to reflect their perspective on time in their work.

50 pieces of art will be selected for display in an online exhibition on the CaFÉ website, with each piece featured in dedicated social media posts throughout the year. Additional works may be used as rotating images on the CaFÉ and WESTAF websites. Entry is free. Submit 1-2 artworks in any medium (images, audio, or video files accepted). Include a short artist statement describing your work's connection to the theme and an artist headshot (jpg, no larger than 2MB).

Jurors from WESTAF staff and board members will conduct 2-3 rounds of asynchronous scoring. Prize awards: First Place $2,000, Second Place $1,000, Third Place $500, plus 10 additional artists awarded $50 each. Eligibility is limited to artists residing in the WESTAF region: Alaska, American Samoa, Arizona, California, Colorado, Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, Hawai'i, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Artwork must be entirely the artist's own creation and cannot be AI-generated or AI-assisted.
