50 Reasons Why: Your Take on the East End

This art exhibition welcomes all mediums and invites artists to showcase works that depict their feelings about the East End of Long Island. To celebrate East End Arts' 50th year, jurors Debbie Wells and Franklin Hill Perrell of Artful Circle will select fifty pieces that best convey the artists' intentions and show originality of vision.

The exhibition welcomes all mediums and sizes, including fine art, sculpture, photography, digital work, literary, audible, musical, video, film, and fashion. Works must be the artist's original design and concept. Artists can enter up to 3 submissions that meet the theme and have not been previously shown at East End Arts. Only digital submissions will be considered. This is a national open call for all ages and disciplines, with the requirement that subject matter connect to the East End of Long Island.

The fifty selected works will be exhibited across two galleries on Main Street in Riverhead, NY, with an opening reception on Saturday, November 12, 2022. The exhibition runs through December 17, 2022. Prizes include: Best in Show ($1,000 cash), 1st Place ($500 cash), 2nd Place ($250 cash and 2 tickets to a show at The Suffolk Theater), plus 2 Honorable Mentions. Entry fee is $40 per submission, with an additional $25 media fee for each additional submission. Submissions must include 1-3 work samples (images, audio, or video). Jury selection takes place October 1-19, 2022.
