About This Call
This is an open call to artists for an international juried exhibition at Site:Brooklyn. The exhibition will reflect the ambitious, innovative and contemporary in printmaking today, highlighting traditional printmaking processes in any combination of serigraphy, letterpress, collagraphy, etching, woodcut, lithography, linocut, drypoint, mezzotint, monoprint and solar plates. Digital and photographic elements may be used only as a supporting element. The juror is Jennifer Melby, a master printmaker specializing in intaglio printmaking whose work is held in collections including the Museum of Modern Art, New York Public Library, Whitney Museum, Houston Museum of Fine Art, Cleveland Museum of Art, Smith College, Tate Gallery, Pinakothek der Moderne Munich, and Yale University Art Gallery.
Eligibility is open to all artists 18 years of age or older. Only original works may be submitted. The entry fee is $35 for up to three images, plus $10 for each additional image (minimum 3, maximum 12 images). All entries must be received by midnight August 7, 2018 MST. Notification of acceptance will be made via email by August 15, 2018, with a return confirmation of participation required by August 20, 2018 to hold a spot in the exhibition.
Accepted work must be suitably framed to professional standard with maximum size of 48" x 60" x 4" D. All artwork must be priced for sale. Site:Brooklyn will retain a 50% commission on all exhibition sales. Shipped artwork must arrive between September 1-14, 2018, or hand-delivered September 15-16, 2018 from 1:00-5:00 PM. Hand-delivered work must be picked up October 22-23, 2018 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The gallery exhibition runs September 21 – October 21, 2018, with an opening reception Friday September 21, 2018 from 6-9 PM. All entry fees are non-refundable. Entries that differ significantly from their digital images may be rejected.
