4th Annual Drawing Discourse - University of North Carolina Asheville

The 4th Annual Drawing Discourse is open to all artists living in the United States who are 18 years of age or older. All work must be original and completed in the past two years and cannot have been exhibited at UNC Asheville before. Media is open to any traditional or experimental drawing media including two or three-dimensional works, video, or installation. It is at the juror's discretion to choose single or multiple works from each artist's submission.

Entry fee is $30 for the first image and $5 for each additional image, with a limit of 6 images total. Artists may submit up to 6 images and/or videos (minimum 1 total sample required). Digital submissions in JPEG format on CD are accepted via mail (postmarked by November 5, 2012) or online via CaFE (by November 16, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. MST). Image files should be approximately 1500 x 2100 pixels at 300 dpi, no larger than 10 MB. Video entries must be 5 minutes or less in .mov format at maximum 720 dpi.

Accepted works must arrive ready to install between January 7-10, 2013. The exhibition opens January 18, 2013 with a lecture by juror Susan Hauptman and closes February 5, 2013. A full color catalogue will be printed; each accepted artist receives one complimentary copy. $500 in cash prizes will be awarded during the opening reception. Sales are encouraged with a 30% commission retained by UNC Asheville. All work is available for purchase unless marked NFS (Not For Sale). Accepted work that differs from the digital juried image may be excluded from the exhibition.
