49th Annual Regional Juried Art Exhibition & Sale

The Richardson Civic Art Society, funded in part by the City of Richardson through the Arts Commission, invites submissions for the 49th Annual Regional Juried Art Exhibition & Sale. Open to amateur and professional Texas artists age 21 and over. Artwork must be original, executed after March 1, 2013 without instructor supervision, and not previously accepted in any RCAS Regional Shows. Categories include Oil/Acrylic on Canvas or Hard Surface, Water Media on Paper, Collage/Mixed Media, and Pastels/Graphics. No sculpture, computer art, photographs, shadow boxes, or assemblage. Graphics are limited to charcoals, pen & ink, colored and graphite pencils, crayons, woodcuts, etchings, and hand-pulled prints. Works that differ substantially from submitted images will be disqualified.

Entry fee is $20 for the first image and $15 for each additional image (limit 3 pieces total). RCAS members receive a 30% discount. Submit 1-3 images via the CAFÉ website. The juror is Gladys Roldan de Moras. Awards total $8,000 in cash prizes plus merchandise, including an RCAS Purchase Award ($2,000), Member Excellence Award ($800), and Judges Choice Award ($450), plus 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Honorable Mention awards in each category.

Accepted artwork must be two-dimensional, dry, and professionally framed using D-rings and wire. Minimum image size is 8 inches; maximum frame height or width is 42 inches. Matted work must have white or buff outer mat. Watercolor and fragile media must be under Plexiglas; pastel artwork may be under glass. Gallery-wrapped canvas is acceptable with painted edges. Collage build-ups must not exceed 1/4 inch. Hand delivery of accepted entries is April 28, 2015, 6:00-8:30 p.m. at Charles W. Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Drive, Richardson, TX 75082. Shipped entries must be received April 13-20, 2015 with a $45 handling and insurance fee. Exhibition runs May 1-26, 2015. Awards reception is May 10, 2015, 7:00-9:00 p.m. Artwork pickup is May 27, 2015, 4:00-7:00 p.m. A 15% commission to the Eisemann Center and 20% commission to RCAS is required on all sales.
