48th Southern Watercolor Society Annual Juried Exhibition 2025

The Southern Watercolor Society invites artists to submit work for the 48th Annual Juried Exhibition. Artists must be current 2025 members of the Southern Watercolor Society and reside in the United States before applying. Members in good standing who have moved from the United States remain eligible. Membership dues are $30.00 and may be paid online at www.southernwatercolorsociety.org.

Artists may submit up to two painting images with a non-refundable entry fee of $35 for the first entry and $10 for a second entry. Paintings must be original in composition, water-based media on paper, watercolor board, or YUPO (unvarnished), completed within the last five years, and not previously accepted into Southern Watercolor Society exhibitions. Image size must be a minimum of 80 square inches as viewed within the mat opening. Framed size maximum is 44 inches in either direction with frame molding not exceeding 2 inches in width. Paintings must be protected with Plexiglas or acrylic glazing (no glass). JPEG image specifications: 1200 pixels or greater on the longest side, under 5MB, with artwork title as filename.

The exhibition will be held at Panama City Center for the Arts, 19 E 4th Street, Panama City, FL 32401, from June 2 – July 26, 2025. The juror is Keiko Tanabe. Cash awards and merchandise awards will exceed $10,000, including Best of Show ($2,000), Platinum ($1,750), Gold ($1,500), Silver ($1,250), Bronze ($1,000), and several memorial and reciprocal awards. Accepted paintings must be shipped via UPS or FedEx in reusable boxes with prepaid return shipping labels. A $25 handling fee is required by April 23, 2025. Panama City Center for the Arts will charge a 30% commission on all sales. An optional three-day workshop with juror Keiko Tanabe is available June 4-6 for $399.
