47th National Exhibition at the McBride Gallery

The Women Artists of the West 47th National Exhibition will be held at McBride Gallery in Annapolis, MD from November 5 through December 3, 2017, with optional extended dates through December 31, 2017. Approximately 130 juried pieces will be selected for this annual show, which includes paintings and sculpture but excludes photography, fiber art, and digital art.

Eligibility is open to all WAOW members working in all mediums (excluding photography, digital art, and fiber art). Original work must have been completed within the past two years (2015-2017) and not previously exhibited in WAOW juried shows. Three-dimensional works must be no more than three years old and exhibited no more than twice in any WAOW juried exhibition. 2D artwork may not exceed 40 united inches unframed, and 3D works are limited to 75 pounds per entry. Artwork must be available for sale and professionally framed and ready to hang. Master-Signature Members may submit one non-juried piece with a maximum of 36 inches in the largest dimension.

Entry deadline is July 17, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Entry fee is $50 for one to three submissions, $55 for four submissions, and $60 for five submissions. Digital images must be submitted online using pass code waowMD2017. Only one piece per artist will be selected for inclusion in the show. The blind jury process requires artist signatures to be covered before submission. Awards totaling approximately $20,000 in cash and sponsor merchandise will be presented, including Best of Show ($1,000), Best of the Master-Signatures ($1,000), and multiple category awards. Judge Lisa Egeli will select award winners and conduct a demo on November 4. Sales commission: 2D work is 45% gallery, 5% WAOW, 50% artist; 3D work is 40% gallery, 60% artist. McBride Gallery will pay artists by January 15, 2018.
