About This Call
The 47th Mid-States Craft Exhibition is open to artists residing in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, or Tennessee. The competition accepts work in the following categories: ceramics, glass, textiles/fiber, metals, wood, enamel, and mixed media. All work must be original and completed after March 2020, and not previously exhibited in the Mid-States Craft Exhibition. Entries must not exceed 108 inches in any direction and/or 150 pounds. Large sculpture should be weatherproofed for outdoor display. No entry that requires the artist to be present for moving or assembly will be accepted.
The entry fee is $40.00 and entitles entrants to submit up to two entries. Submissions are made via CaFE with payment options including credit cards, PayPal, and check. If paying by check, it must be received at the museum no later than October 1st to be eligible for jurying. Over $5,000 in purchase and merit awards, underwritten by individuals, corporations, foundations, and philanthropic organizations, will be presented at the December 9th awards reception. Purchase award-winning works will become part of the permanent collection of the Evansville Museum.
Accepted work must be delivered between October 23 and November 1, 2023, either in person or shipped prepaid. The exhibition runs from November 24, 2023 through March 17, 2024. The awards reception is Saturday, December 9, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. CST. Exhibited work may be picked up in person from March 21–29, 2024. All works accepted for exhibition will be insured while on the premises at a value agreeable to the artist and the Museum, with a maximum insurance value of $4,000. The Museum will not be responsible for insuring work in transit or works unclaimed after March 29, 2024. For more information, contact A.J.
