About This Call
The 47th Annual Juried University of Wyoming Student Exhibition is a highlight of the University of Wyoming Art Museum's exhibition program, presenting artwork from selected University of Wyoming students. The 2021 exhibition is juried by Natalia Ángeles Vieyra, the Maher Curatorial Fellow of American Art at the Harvard Art Museums specializing in the art and material culture of the U.S., Latin America, and the Caribbean. Works not selected for the museum exhibition will be presented in a virtual Salon des Refusés organized by the Student Art League.
Eligibility is open to any undergraduate, graduate, or post-doctoral student attending any college or outreach school in the University of Wyoming system, including in-state students in the Distance Learning Program. Students must be registered in classes during the spring 2022 semester to be eligible for awards. A maximum of three works per student may be submitted. Original artwork including paintings, drawings, prints, photography, sculpture, graphic design, ceramics, mixed media, or video may be submitted. Two-dimensional works must be ready to hang prior to submission (matted and framed under glass or Plexiglas where appropriate). All three-dimensional works must be stable, and pedestals will be provided by the UW Art Museum. Title, date, size (H x W x D), and medium must be provided for all works. All works must specify a price or be listed as Not for Sale (NFS), and an additional insurance value must also be provided.
The exhibition will be on view at the University of Wyoming Art Museum from February 19 through May 14, 2022. Scholarship and purchase awards will be announced during the opening reception on Friday, February 18, at 6:30 pm. Contact Michelle Sunset, Curator, at 307-766-6621 or [email protected] with questions.
