46th Open Division

This is an open call for members of any IAPS member society to submit original dry pastel artwork. The top layer of the painting must be at least 80% dry application of pastel. Mixed media submissions are accepted if predominantly dry pastel. Works must be original and not copied from other artists or published materials. Work created in classroom or workshop scenarios is ineligible, as is work created on top of any photographic image. Work that has been accepted in any previous IAPS Exhibitions is not eligible (IAPS Member Society shows are excluded from this restriction). Paintings of nudes will be considered for acceptance. Work may be for sale or marked NFS.

Awards include: Best in Show ($2,000), First Place in Honor of Urania Christy Tarbet ($1,000), Second Place in Honor of Maggie Price ($600), Third Place ($400), and four Awards of Merit ($200 each).

Submissions must be high-quality JPEG files at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Images should be cropped to show only the artwork with no visible matting, frames, or background distractions, and must be oriented correctly. Entry fees are not refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline of March 14, 2025.
