45th Annual Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Exhibition

The 45th Annual Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Exhibition is presented by Center for the Arts Evergreen (CAE) in Evergreen, Colorado. This juried exhibition attracts entrants and jurors from throughout the United States and is regarded as one of the top watermedia exhibitions in the country. The exhibition will be held September 8 – October 27, 2018, with an opening reception on September 7 from 4-7pm.

Mary Ann Beckwith, an internationally acclaimed painter, author, and teacher, will serve as juror. She holds signature membership in the American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society, the Watercolor Honor Society of Watercolor USA, and other prestigious organizations. Ms. Beckwith will offer a Master Workshop, "The Brush and Beyond: A Workshop in Exploring Experimental Media," August 6-9, 2018, and will give a free public demonstration on Sunday, August 5 at 2:00 pm.

Eligibility is open to all artists residing in the United States. Each artist may enter up to 3 paintings for consideration. Accepted artists will have 1 original painting displayed in the exhibition, with the option to submit up to 2 unframed, matted originals (no larger than 16" x 20") for sale in the CAE Gift Shop. Paintings must be an aqueous medium on watercolor papers, watercolor canvas, or watermedia boards. Computer-generated works and Giclee prints are not permitted. Artworks must have been painted in the last two years and may not have been shown previously at CAE or a previous RMNW exhibition. The entry fee is $40.00. In 2017, awards totaled almost $10,000 in cash and merchandise. All paintings must be available for sale during the exhibition; CAE retains a 40% commission on all art sales. Juror selections will be announced June 20, 2018, with accepted artists notified via email.
