45th Annual Exhibition

The Florida Watercolor Society invites eligible members in good standing (dues paid by March 31, 2016) to submit entries for the 45th Annual Exhibition. Members may submit one or two digital image entries for jurying. The exhibition will be held September 5–October 21, 2016, at the College of Central Florida CF Webber Gallery, 3001 SW College Road, Ocala, Florida. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10 am to 4 pm, closed Saturday, Sunday, and college-observed holidays.

Eligible artwork is limited to water soluble media (no water soluble oil products or pastels). Paintings may be done on all surfaces created for water media including paper, clay coated or synthetic surfaces, illustration or paper mounted board, and flat watercolor canvas, and must be framed under Plexiglas (acrylic). Source material must be original and not derived from published images. All entries must be executed after January 1, 2014 and not previously shown in any FWS Online or Annual Exhibition. Collage is acceptable if created from paper painted by the artist in water media. Photographs, reproductions, or digital media/images are not permitted. Only one painting per artist may be accepted for the exhibition. Diptychs or triptychs will not be accepted.

Frames should be smooth with a flat or rounded profile, metal or wood, not ornate, carved, grooved, beaded or colored (black or white frames are acceptable). Maximum frame width is 3 inches. Framed size no larger than 48 inches in either direction. All paintings must be under clear Plexiglas without scratches or debris. Mats, if used, should be single or double, white only with no colored liners.

The entry deadline is Sunday, June 5, 2016, 11:59 p.m. MDT. Entries must be made online through CaFE only at www.callforentry.org. Digital images must be no larger than 5MB, sized at 1920 pixels on the longest side and 72 dpi resolution. The non-refundable entry fee is $25 for one entry or $30 for two entries per artist, paid via PayPal. A handling fee of $30 (Airfloat boxes) or $45 (other boxes) for shipped work, or $10 for hand-delivered work will be charged for all accepted entries. Do not use styrofoam peanuts for packing.

Awards include the Susan Lattner Lloyd Gold Award of $2,000 plus other monetary and merchandise awards totaling approximately $10,000. The juror is Ted Nuttall, AWS, NWS, WW, WFWS, TWSA Master. Paintings must either be priced for sale or marked "NFS" (Not For Sale). If NFS, an insurance value must be declared. The CF Webber Gallery will take a 10% commission.
