44th Open Division

This is an open call for dry pastel artists who are members of any IAPS member society. The exhibition accepts original artwork created within the last two years in dry pastel media. Mixed media submissions must be predominantly dry pastel, and oil pastels are not accepted.

Artwork requirements include: work must be original and not copied from other artists or published materials; must not be created in a classroom or workshop scenario; must not be created on top of any photographic image; must be exactly the same piece as the photo submitted; must not have been accepted in any previous IAPS Exhibitions (excluding IAPS Member Society shows); and must be for sale. The top layer of the painting should be at least 80% dry application of pastel. Paintings of nudes will be considered for acceptance.

Awards include: Best in Show ($2,000), First Place in Honor of Urania Christy Tarbet ($1,000), Second Place in Honor of Maggie Price ($600), Third Place ($400), and four Awards of Merit ($200 each). Entry fee is $35.00 for the first image and $10.00 for each additional image. Up to 5 images may be submitted by an individual artist. Submit high-quality JPEG files at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Images must be cropped to show only the artwork without matting, frames, or background.
