44th Mid-States Craft Exhibition

The Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science presents the 44th Mid-States Craft Exhibition, open to artists residing in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, or Tennessee. All work must be original, completed within the last three years, and not previously exhibited in the Mid-States Craft Exhibition.

The competition accepts work in the following categories: ceramics, glass, textiles, metals, wood, enamel, and mixed media. Entries must not exceed 96 inches in any direction and/or 150 pounds. Large sculpture should be weatherproofed for outdoor display. No entry that requires the artist to be present for moving or assembly will be accepted. The entry fee is $25.00, which entitles entrants to submit up to two works of art. Individuals are limited to one entry per person. Payment may be made by check, money order, or credit card (Visa or Master Card). Checks must be received at the museum no later than October 29th to be eligible for the jurying process.

Works selected for exhibition will be received hand delivered or shipped prepaid from November 16-28, 2015, during museum hours: Tuesday through Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; Sunday noon to 4:00 p.m. The exhibition runs January 17 – March 6, 2016. An Awards Reception and Presentation will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. CST. Over $10,000 in purchase and merit awards will be presented. Purchase award-winning works will become part of the permanent collection of the Evansville Museum. Exhibited work may be claimed from March 8-18, 2016, during museum hours. All works accepted for exhibition will be insured while on the premises at a value agreeable to the artist and the Museum, with a maximum insurance value of $1,500.00. The Museum will not be responsible for insuring work in transit or works unclaimed after March 18, 2016.
