43rd Annual Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Exhibition

The Rocky Mountain National Watermedia exhibition, in its 43rd year, is presented by Foothills Art Center in Golden, Colorado. RMNW attracts entrants and jurors from throughout the United States and is regarded as one of the top watermedia exhibitions in the country. The exhibition runs September 17 – October 23, 2016.

Eligibility: Open to all artists residing in the United States. Each artist may enter up to 3 paintings for consideration; accepted artists will have 1 painting in the exhibition. Paintings must be an aqueous medium on watercolor papers, watercolor canvas, watermedia boards (Aquabord, Claybord, Gessobord, Yupo), illustration boards, or panels (egg tempera). Non-watercolor canvas, computer-generated works, and Giclee prints are not permitted. All collage materials must be painted by the artist. All entries must be one-of-a-kind, painted within the last two years, and may not have been previously shown at FAC. Minimum image size is 80 square inches; maximum size is 72 inches in either direction. Source material must be your own design or made from your own photograph.

Entry fee: $40.00. Submit 1-3 images in JPEG format, minimum 1920 pixels on the longest side, 5 MB maximum, 72 ppi/dpi resolution. Submission deadline: May 24, 2016 (online). Juror selections will be announced June 22, 2016. All paintings must be available for sale during the exhibition; FAC retains a 40% commission on sales. FAC provides insurance for artworks while on premises. All shipped artwork will be charged a $25 handling fee. In 2015, FAC awarded over $10,000 in cash and merchandise to exhibition artists.
