About This Call
The 43rd Annual Michigan Fine Arts Competition is open to artists 18 and older living and working in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Original works in all media (except video or canvas/gallery-wrapped copies) created and/or finished after January 1, 2023 are eligible, provided they have not been previously exhibited at the BBAC.
Artists may submit up to two entries for a $40 non-refundable fee (covers one or both entries). Each entry requires one image per work. Images should not include the artist's name or borders, and 3D work images must show all components intended for display. Entries will be juried online. The juror is Danette Dufilho, Director and Project Room curator at Conduit Gallery in Dallas.
Accepted artwork intake is June 3-7, 2024 (10 AM–4 PM). The exhibition opens June 14 and closes August 15, 2024. All artwork must be original and gallery-ready. 2D work must be properly wired for hanging. Maximum artwork height is 9 feet. Work available for sale will be sold at the price indicated on the entry form only; the BBAC retains a 45% commission on all sales. Artists must pick up work by 4 PM August 17, 2024, or incur $10/day late charges. Contact [email protected] or 248.644.0866 with questions.
