43rd Annual Indiana Heritage Arts Exhibition & Sale

The 43rd Annual Indiana Heritage Arts Exhibition & Sale is open to artists 18 years or older who are current or former residents of Indiana. Artists must be current members of Indiana Heritage Arts, Inc.; memberships can be renewed or established with entry submission. Entry fee is $30 plus annual membership dues of $35 ($65 total, non-refundable). Each artist may enter up to 3 two-dimensional paintings for consideration.

Eligible work includes oils, acrylics, alkyd, watercolor, casein, egg tempera, pastels, drawing, printmaking, and mixed media. Work not on canvas must be under glass or plexi. Photography and computer art are not permitted. Work must be executed in the spirit of traditional early Indiana artists and should not be copies of other artists' works or published photographs. All submitted work must be available for purchase with a maximum framed size of 57" x 57". Work must be properly framed, ready to hang, with sturdy frames in good repair and wired for hanging (strap hangers only). Wet paintings and gallery wraps are not permitted.

The exhibition runs June 12 - July 10, 2021 at the Brown County Art Gallery. Over $20,000 in cash awards will be presented, including IHA Gold ($5,000), IHA Silver ($3,000), IHA Bronze ($2,000), Director's Purchase Award, Awards of Excellence ($1,000), Memorial and Merit Awards ($250-$500), People's Choice Award ($500), and special awards for works featuring children with pets or figures in gardens (Ada Shulz Award) and winter or street scenes of Nashville, Indiana (Bohm Award). Indiana Heritage Arts, Inc. retains a 33% commission on all sales. Artwork may be picked up July 11-16, 2021. Entry deadline is May 14, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.
