About This Call
The Western Spirit Juried Art Show & Sale is the premier annual juried art show in the Rocky Mountain region for new and emerging artists who create original western art depicting the American West. All artwork is selected by an independent jury comprised of professionals in the western art community. Media categories include Acrylic, Drawing, Mixed-Media, Oil, Pastel, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, and Watercolor. Installation art is not accepted.
Entry fee is $20.00 plus a $20.00 media fee. Artists must submit 1-4 images sized to no smaller than 1200 pixels on the longest side as jpegs under 5 MB through www.callforentry.org. All entries are due by November 5, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Acceptance notifications will be sent December 10, 2021. The show runs March 5 - April 17, 2022, with the opening reception and award show on March 5, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.
Awards include Best of Show $1000, Best of Each Media $500, People's Choice $300, and Best Miniature $100. All artwork must be original and created within the last 2-3 years. Artwork must arrive show-ready (framed, mounted, and matted) and ready to hang on a wire system. 2-D pieces will not exceed 47 inches horizontal or 60 inches vertical; 3-D pieces will not exceed three square feet at the base. All artwork, including miniatures, must be for sale. The Museum collects a 35% commission for each sale. Artists may submit up to two wire hang-ready miniature works (not exceeding 12 inches framed for 2-D or 18 inches in any dimension for 3-D) with miniature information due January 10, 2022.
