41st Annual Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Exhibition

The Rocky Mountain National Watermedia (RMNW) exhibition, in its 41st year, is presented by Foothills Art Center in Golden, Colorado. This is a highly competitive juried exhibition. Artwork will be selected based on content, composition, and technique. RMNW attracts entrants and jurors from throughout the United States and is regarded as one of the top watermedia exhibitions in the country.

Eligibility: Open to all artists residing in the United States. Paintings must be an aqueous medium on paper, illustration board, or Yupo paper. Canvas, computer-generated works, and Giclee prints are not permitted. All collage materials must be painted by the artist. All entries must be one-of-a-kind. Artworks must have been painted in the last two years and may not have been shown previously at Foothills Art Center. Minimum image size is 80 square inches; maximum is 30x40. Source material must be your own design or made from your own photograph.

Entry fee is $40 for up to 3 entries. Submit 1-3 digital images in JPEG format (1920 pixels in longest dimension, 72 ppi/dpi or higher, no larger than 3.0 MB). Exhibition dates: September 13-October 26, 2014. Juror selections will be announced June 24, 2014. Accepted work must be ready to exhibit with proper hanging mechanism (wire with wrapped ends or D rings; no sawtooth hangers). Framing is required using Plexiglas only; all matting must be white or off-white. All paintings must be available for sale during the exhibition. Foothills Art Center retains a 40% commission on all art sales. FAC will offer up to $10,000 in cash awards and merchandise. All artists who apply will receive one complimentary catalog.
