About This Call
The 10th annual 40UNDER40 exhibition is open to Virginia-based artists aged 40 and under. The exhibition seeks submissions that challenge viewers and push boundaries of themes, materials, and media. All media are accepted, including visual, video, installation, and sound.
Submissions must include 1-10 images. Entry fee is $10. The exhibition will take place in person and virtually, with a printed catalog produced. Piper Groves, Director and Curator of SVAC, will serve as juror. All artists will be notified of the juror's decision by email no later than February 12. The exhibition runs February 3 - March 25, 2024.
Accepted artwork must hang for the duration of the exhibit and be ready for hanging with appropriate hardware and wire, or able to stand freely. Hand-delivered artwork will be received on Saturday, February 26, 10am-4pm or Tuesday, March 1, 10am-4pm. Shipped artwork must be delivered no later than March 1 and include prepaid return shipping; shipped works will be returned by April 8. All submissions must include prices (NFS acceptable). SVAC charges a 20% commission on sales. For questions, contact [email protected].
