40UNDER40 2022

The 10th annual 40UNDER40 exhibition is open to Virginia-based artists aged 40 and under. The exhibition seeks submissions that challenge viewers and push boundaries of themes, materials, and media. All media are accepted, including visual, video, installation, and sound.

Submit 1-5 images for consideration with a $10 entry fee. All online entries must be completed by February 10, 2022 at midnight MST. Piper Groves, Director and Curator of SVAC, will serve as juror. All artists will be notified of the juror's decision by email no later than February 12. Selected artwork must hang for the duration of the exhibit (March 4-26, 2022) and be ready for hanging with appropriate hardware and wire, or able to stand freely. Installation and alternative presentation pieces are welcome.

Shipped artwork must be delivered no later than March 1, 2022 with prepaid return shipping; shipped works will be returned by April 8, 2022. Hand-delivered artwork will be received on Saturday, February 26, 10am-4pm or Tuesday, March 1, 10am-4pm. All submissions must include prices (NFS is acceptable).
