About This Call
This competition invites pastel artists to submit three original artworks for jury selection. One artwork per artist will be selected for the exhibition, and selected artists must agree to ship their work to the in-person exhibition. Failure to ship will result in forfeiture of awards.
Eligibility requirements: Work must be original dry pastel (minimum 80% if mixed media; oil pastel not accepted), created within the last two years, and not copied from other artists or published materials. Work created in classroom or workshop settings is ineligible. Each submission must include three high-quality JPEG images at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge, with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Images should show only the artwork without matting, frames, or background distractions.
The entry fee is $50 USD for three images (approximately €45.50). Entry fees are non-refundable and must be paid by the deadline. Ten artists will be selected by an independent jury and notified by email. Awards include: 1st prize—GIRAULT Pastels Box and €1,000; 2nd prize—€800; 3rd prize—€600; 4th through 10th prizes—€200 each. Entries must be submitted online at ShowSubmit.com and cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline. Incomplete entries will be disqualified. For questions about eligibility, artwork requirements, or the competition, contact Florian du Boisrouvray at [email protected].
