About This Call
Providence Center for Photographic Arts (formerly Peter Miller Fine Art) seeks exhibition-ready work from established and emerging photographers for its 3rd Open Call exhibit, juried by Paula Tognarelli, Executive Director and Curator of the Griffin Museum of Photography. The exhibition runs February 16 - March 11, 2017.
This open call invites photographers from around the world working in all mediums, styles, and schools of thought. All photo-based images are welcome with no theme or limitation to subject matter or technique. Entries will be reviewed and judged on artistic merit, originality, technical excellence, composition, and overall impact. Photographers must be age 18 or older. Artwork must be photography-based and 40 inches or less in height and width (including the frame).
Entry fee is $30 for three pieces and $10 for each additional entry (limit of 8 entries per person). PCPA members receive a $24 rate for three pieces. Submit 3-8 JPG images (highest quality, sRGB color space, 1920 pixels on the longest side, file size less than 5 megabytes) through CAFÉ by January 22, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Applicants will be notified by email on January 27, 2017. All accepted work must be professionally printed and framed with glass or plexi, wired with D-rings, and ready to hang. Hand delivery is February 11-12 from 1-3 p.m., or shipped artwork must be received by February 13 at 4 p.m. A print service is available for distant photographers ($40 per print). The opening reception is February 16 from 6:30-8:30 p.m., with an awards reception on March 9 at 6:30 p.m. All accepted work must be for sale; PCPA retains a 40% commission on sales. Prizes total $1000: Best of Show $500, 2nd place $250, 3rd place $150, and People's Choice $100 (determined by paper ballot or email).
