About This Call
The Trinity Cathedral Christian Art Festival invites artists to submit work for the 3rd Annual Trinity Episcopal Church National Juried Exhibition. The theme is "Arise, shine, for your light has come," intended to elicit reflections on new beginnings. The mission is to encourage artists to create visual art providing a unique perspective on the Christian view and experience in contemporary life.
Eligibility: Open to all artists residing in the U.S. Original artwork produced in the last two years depicting subject matter related to the theme. Work cannot have been previously exhibited in Sacramento within the last two years. All work must be for sale. Accepted media includes two and three dimensional artwork, including work with high relief not projecting more than 9 inches from the plane. There are no specific size restrictions; contact the administrator for unusually large works.
Entry fees: $45 for up to 3 entries, $5 each additional entry, with a limit of 6 entries per artist. Submit 3-6 images online at http://trinityartshow.org. Deadline: Friday, August 23, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Notifications: Tuesday, September 10, 2019. Exhibition dates: October 11 – November 1, 2019 at Sparrow Gallery, 1021 R Street, Sacramento, CA 95811. Opening reception: Saturday, October 12, 2019, 6-9 p.m. Juror: Scott Shields, Associate Director & Chief Curator, Crocker Art Museum.
Prizes: Total cash awards of $5,000 (First place: $3,000; Second place: $1,500; Honorable Mention: $500). Artists receive 60% on the sale of their work. Accepted work must be delivered to Sparrow Gallery between Wednesday, October 2 and Friday, October 4, 2019 by 5 p.m. PST. Artwork must be ready to hang; work under glass requires rigid frames. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and should include a return shipping label. Unsold artwork not being shipped must be picked up on Saturday, November 2, 2019 between 1-5 p.m. Contact Nisa Hayden at [email protected] for alternative arrangements.
