About This Call
This is an open call to artists for an international juried exhibition of prints at Site:Brooklyn, running September 22 – October 22, 2017. The exhibition will reflect the ambitious, innovative and contemporary in printmaking today, highlighting traditional printmaking processes in any combination of serigraphy, letterpress, collagraphy, etching, woodcut, lithography, linocut, drypoint, mezzotint, monoprint and solar plates. Digital and photographic elements may be used only as a supporting element.
The juror is Marina Ancona, Master Printer and founder of 10 Grand Press, an independent print shop specializing in fine art printing processes and techniques with locations in Brooklyn, New York and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Her publishing and collaborative projects have been exhibited internationally, including the Guggenheim Museum, Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, and other major institutions. She has conducted lectures and workshops at Bard College, Sarah Lawrence College, SUNY Purchase, and Pratt Institute, among others.
Eligibility is open to all artists 18 years of age or older. Entry fee is $35 for up to three images, plus $10 for each additional image (minimum 3, maximum 12 images). Only original works may be submitted. Entries that differ significantly from their digital images may be rejected. Notification of acceptance will be made via email by August 17, 2017. A return confirmation of participation is required by August 23, 2017 to hold a spot in the exhibition. Opening reception is Friday, September 22, 2017 from 6-9 PM. Site:Brooklyn will retain a 40% commission on all exhibition sales.
