3rd Annual Fotografia 2023

PRPG.mx presents the 3rd Annual Fotografia 2023, an exploration of contemporary photography. This year focuses on highlighting solo shows with photography in the CDMX gallery and on the Artsy platform throughout 2023, culminating in the publication of a printed catalog.

Photographers must be at least 18 years old to enter. This is an open theme competition; all genres, photography formats, and print mediums are acceptable. Work should have been produced within 1 year of the exhibition date. Entries will be selected based on technical application, originality, and concept. Finalists will be invited to show their work in an exhibition at PRPG.mx in Mexico City and potentially offered a solo exhibition on Artsy.net. Selected artists will be featured in a digital catalog published by PRPG.mx and made available to collectors, galleries, and cultural institutions. A selection of artists will be chosen to participate in PRPG.mx's Visiting Artists program, featuring interviews about their process and work. Artists selected for this exhibit may be invited to participate in art fairs and exhibitions with support of Secretaria de Cultura CDMX, Estado de Mexico, and Mexico.

Entry fee is $40 for up to 10 images. PRPG.mx works with FocoLab and CYAN Lab in Mexico City for production of photography work, offering costs significantly lower than the USA with equal or better quality, and eliminating international shipping and customs fees. An optional consultation with the gallery curator is available for $50, limited to 1 hour via Zoom, with no bearing on final selections. Artists selected for the exhibition will receive notification on a rolling basis with final notifications 3 weeks prior to the exhibition. Waitlisted artists may be reviewed up to 9 months after the close of the call.
