3rd Annual Artrageous Birds Juried Exhibition

The 3rd Annual Artrageous Birds Juried Exhibition is an annual themed juried exhibition of original artwork depicting or inspired by birds. The exhibition features two separate divisions: the Traditional Salon and the Digital Salon. Both salons showcase work in a traditional gallery setting and online. Artists are encouraged to enter work in both salons but may not enter the same artwork in both salons in the same year.

The Traditional Salon welcomes 2D and 3D visual art mediums including painting, drawing, illustration, mixed media, sculpture, and photography. Accepted pieces must be physically delivered to the gallery and ready to hang with wire hangers (2D) or fully assembled and ready for display (3D). The Digital Salon welcomes 2D visual art mediums such as digital painting, digital drawing, digital illustration, digital mixed media, and photography. Digital entries are submitted as digital files only with no physical delivery required.

Submissions open November 15, 2025 and close January 18, 2026 at 11:59pm. Artists will be notified of acceptance on February 9, 2026. The exhibition runs March 5–29, 2026, with a reception and awards ceremony on Saturday, March 7, 2026, 1pm–4pm. Drop-off dates are Tuesday, March 3, 2026, 4pm–6pm and Wednesday, March 4, 2026, 12pm–2pm. Pick-up is Monday, March 30, 2026, 4pm–6pm.

Entry fees are $50 ($46 for WAA Members) per salon, which includes up to 2 artworks. An additional artwork may be entered for $25 ($23 for WAA Members). Students up to 25 years of age may qualify for discounted fees. Artwork must be entirely original work of the entrant. AI-generated and AI-assisted artwork are not permitted. Non-generative AI editing tools are permitted with limited scope. Artwork must be appropriate for viewers of all ages and may not be overtly sexual, racist, violent, libelous, slanderous, demoralizing, or discriminatory.

Artwork previously awarded (best of show, place winners, or honorable mentions) in previous Artrageous Birds Exhibitions is not eligible for re-entry. The total monetary award pool is $1,000. Digital Salon awards include 1st Place ($150), 2nd Place ($125), 3rd Place ($100), Public's Choice, and Honorable Mention certificates. Traditional Salon awards include 1st Place ($150), 2nd Place ($125), 3rd Place ($100), Viewer's Choice, and Honorable Mention certificates. An overall award will be presented considering all accepted entries in both salons. An entrant may not receive more than one cash award.

For Traditional Salon work: minimum image size is 8" x 10" (80 square inches); maximum overall size is 36" in either direction including frame. Wire hangers are required. Artwork must remain in the gallery for the duration of the show with no replacements or substitutions permitted.
