About This Call
3Arts is partnering with the Alliance of Artists Communities and four artist residency programs across the United States to provide support for artists. If accepted, applicants will receive a one-month residency between Fall 2014 and the end of 2015 at one of the participating residency programs, airfare to/from the residency, and a $2,000 stipend to offset other costs of the residency. Stipends are considered taxable income by the IRS; the Alliance of Artists Communities will issue a 1099 to each artist and to the IRS.
The residency partners include: Djerassi Resident Artists Program (Woodside, California), Ragdale Foundation (Lake Forest, Illinois), The Robert Rauschenberg Foundation's Rauschenberg Residency (Captiva, Florida), and Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (Amherst, Virginia). The programs serve artists of all disciplines, provide housing and meals, are wheelchair-accessible, and offer a community of other artists-in-residence.
Work sample requirements: maximum 8 images, maximum 3 audio files (no larger than 10mb each, maximum 15 minutes), maximum 3 video files (no larger than 100mb each, maximum 15 minutes), or for playwrights, up to three 5-page excerpts or one full play. Total maximum of 14 samples. All work samples must be formatted according to CaFE's media prep guidelines.
