37th Annual No Big Heads Exhibition

The University of Alaska Anchorage Hugh McPeck Gallery presents the 37th Annual No Big Heads Exhibition, a national juried self-portrait competition of limited size. The exhibition is open to all artists. Works must be no larger than 12" x 12" x 12" in any direction, including framing and hanging materials, and must arrive ready to be displayed. Entries must have been completed within the last three years and cannot have been entered into any previous juried exhibition with the Hugh McPeck Gallery. Limit of two entries per person. Works accepted in all media forms.

Entry fee is $20 per entry for the general public; UAA students with current identification pay $5 per entry. Fees are non-refundable. Submit 1-3 images online by September 12th, 2022 at 11:59 PM MST (9:59 PM AKST). Notification of acceptance into the final round of jurying will be sent September 14th. The juror lecture is October 5th at 7:00 PM in the Fine Arts Building, Room ART105. The exhibition opens October 6th with a reception at 5:00 PM AKST and closes November 3rd. Artwork pickup is November 4th.

Awards include $1,000 for Best of Show and $1,000 in other cash prizes. UAA encourages sales of work and charges a 10% commission. Mark NFS on your application if your work is not for sale. Applicants are responsible for shipping artwork to the gallery; the gallery covers return shipping. Gallery management reserves the right to disqualify any works that do not meet the criteria.
