About This Call
The Wallowa Valley Festival of Arts is the largest juried fine art exhibition in Eastern Oregon, held in Joseph. The festival is dedicated to promoting the arts and supporting artists, reflecting the beauty, culture, heritage, and traditions of the region through representational/traditional realism and contemporary art from the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
The festival accepts work in the following categories: Sculpture (wood, clay, stone, bronze, or other metal); Painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor); Drawing (pastel, pencil, graphite, charcoal, ink, or combinations); Printmaking (woodblock, engraving, etching, monoprint, aquatint, linotype, lithography, silkscreen, or digital prints); Photography (any photograph captured through a lens, including digitally altered); and Other (glass, jewelry, fiber arts, ceramics, or mixed media). Copies, kits, reproductions, or work done under instructor supervision are not eligible. Work must be original and must not have been displayed in a previous Wallowa Valley Festival of Arts show. All accepted work must be made available for sale.
The festival is open to all artists. Entry fee is $30.00 (non-refundable) for up to 3 pieces. Submit 1-3 images of your work online via CaFE (https://www.callforentry.org). Deadline for entry is July 22, 2018 at 11:59pm MDT. Size constraints: pieces weighing more than 200 lbs. or two-dimensional work measuring more than 20 square feet will not be accepted. Artists must provide a brief biography of 150 words or less. Acceptance emails will be sent July 29 - August 7, 2018. The Fine Art Show runs September 14-16, 2018, with an opening night reception on Friday, September 14 (7-10pm). An optional En Plein Air Competition is held September 11-13. The festival retains a 25% commission on all sales. Contact: [email protected].
