36th Annual No Big Heads Exhibition

The University of Alaska Anchorage Hugh McPeck Gallery presents the 36th Annual No Big Heads Exhibition, a national juried self-portrait competition of limited size. This competition is open to all artists.

Works must be no larger than 12 inches by 12 inches in any direction, including framing and hanging materials. Entries must have been completed within the last three years and cannot have been entered into any previous No Big Heads exhibition with the Hugh McPeck Gallery. Limit of two entries per person. Works accepted in all media forms. Submission requirements: 1-3 images, 0-1 audio file, and 0-1 video file (total of 1-3 media samples). Entry fee is $20 per entry; UAA students with current identification pay $5 per entry. Fees are non-refundable. If your work is not for sale, clearly mark NFS on your application. UAA charges a 10% commission on sales.

Awards include $1000 for Best of Show and $1000 in other cash prizes. Juror is George Rodriguez. Entry deadline is September 3rd, 2021 at 5 PM AKST. Notification of acceptance into the final round of jurying: September 10th. Juror lecture: September 29th at 7 PM. Exhibition opens September 30th with reception at 5:00 PM AKST. Exhibition closes October 20th. Artwork pickup is October 21st. Applicants are responsible for shipping artwork to the gallery; the gallery covers return shipping.
