About This Call

360 XQMX welcomes artists, writers, and composers to Lake Chapala for a four-week residency from Sunday, March 2nd through Saturday, March 29th, 2025. Participants do not have to stay for the entire duration but the residency is available for the full four weeks.

The residency is based in Ajijic, an active artist community with regular cultural activities. Programming includes salons held twice a month where residents can share their work, as well as planned poetry slams and monthly Moth-inspired storytelling events. Residents will be made aware daily of opportunities to attend functions and interact with local creatives. Ajijic is a charming Mexican village with a large population of foreigners, offering Mexican traditions, cultural festivities, galleries, theater, live music, dancing, and local markets. The organization is happy to make introductions for special research or cultural references that would help in the writing process.

Applicants must submit a resume, artist statement, project description, and a 500-word writing sample. Eligibility requirements: must be 18 years of age or older and be able to reside in a community of artists. Once three finalists are chosen, participants will be asked to participate in a short online interview. Entry fee is $40.00.
