About This Call

The 35th Texas & Neighbors Regional Art Exhibition is open to all artists 18 and older living in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. Sponsored by the Irving Art Association and Irving Arts Center, the exhibition takes place at the Irving Arts Center, 3333 N. MacArthur Blvd., Irving TX 75062.

Artists may submit up to 3 works in the following categories: Oil painting, Acrylic, Water Media (Watercolor, casein, gouache), Mixed Media, Drawing (Dry Media), Photography (NEW for 2020), and Sculpture (NEW for 2020). Two-dimensional works must be framed professionally or on wrapped canvas/cradled panel, wired and ready to hang. Sculpture must not exceed 18" in diameter or 36" in height. All works must be originals completed within the last two years without instructor supervision. Two-dimensional artwork must be between 12-50 inches in either dimension (minimum 144 square inches). Computer-generated, offset printed, collaborative, and previously accepted works are ineligible.

Entry fee is $50 for up to 3 entries; Irving Art Association members receive a $40 fee for up to 3 works. The juror will select 70-75 artworks. Entrants will be notified of acceptance by March 25. The exhibition runs May 17 - June 14, 2020, with a Reception & Awards Ceremony on May 17, 2-5 pm. Awards total $9,000, including Best of Show ($1,250) and IAC Award of Excellence ($800), plus 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Honorable Mention awards in seven categories. Artists with five paintings exhibited earn TxN Signature Status, which includes a medal, certificate, and listing on the TxN website. The juror is Kristin Rivas, Director of Samuel Lynne Galleries in Dallas.
