35th Annual McNeese National Works on Paper Exhibition

The 35th Annual McNeese National Works on Paper Exhibition is open to all artists living in the United States. Artwork should be original and completed in the last two years. Work in any medium using paper as a component part is eligible. Artwork, including frame, should not exceed 40" in any dimension. Artists may submit no more than three entries. The entry fee is $35 (non-refundable), which entitles the artist to a maximum of three entries.

The juror is Jennifer Dasal, creator and host of ArtCurious Podcast and previously Associate Curator of Contemporary Art at the North Carolina Museum of Art. The deadline for receiving all entry submissions is February 11, 2022. Notification of acceptance will be sent February 25, with a deadline for receipt of accepted works on March 11. The exhibition runs March 24 - May 6, 2022, with an opening reception on March 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. and a juror's gallery talk and awards presentation at 7 p.m. $3,000 will be available for the purchase of works for the McNeese State University Works on Paper Permanent Collection. A 40 percent commission will be charged on all artists' sales by the Grand Gallery. Each entrant will receive a copy of the exhibition catalog.

Accepted artwork must be suitable for formal gallery presentation and the rigors of packaged shipping. Works must be received by March 11 and shipped to: McNeese State University/Dept. of Visual Arts, 4205 Ryan St., Lake Charles, LA 70609. All accepted works must include prepaid return shipping. Hand deliveries are accepted March 9-11 (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Return of artwork begins May 18. Works are insured while on exhibition in the Grand Gallery. The Department of Visual Arts cannot assume responsibility for damage or deterioration incurred before or after exhibition, or for possible loss in transit.
