34th Annual International Exhibition

The Annual International Exhibition is a juried visual art competition organized by the Department of Art and Art History at The University of Texas at Tyler. Internationally known artists, curators, and scholars have served as jurors selecting works for exhibition created by contemporary artists. The Department purchases three to six works from the exhibition each year; purchased works are added to the permanent collection, which serves as an educational teaching resource and is exhibited throughout the UT Tyler main campus.

This competition is open to any artist over the age of 18 working in two-dimensional media. Paintings, drawings, prints, and photographs created in the last three years are welcome. Artists may submit up to three works for consideration for a non-refundable fee of $35. Images must be in JPEG or JPG format with file dimensions not exceeding 1200 pixels on the longest side and file size under 5 MB. Works must be professionally presented and ready for installation upon receipt, using Plexiglass only (no glass or magnets), and must weigh less than 50 pounds.

Shipped work should arrive between January 2-11, 2019. Hand-delivered artworks may be brought in on January 9 between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. Shipped work must be in a reusable shipping container with a pre-paid return shipping label. Notification of acceptance will be sent via email on December 17, 2018. The exhibition opens January 21, 2019, with a reception and juror presentation on January 31, 2019, and closes March 8, 2019. Works will be returned March 13-16, 2019.
