33rd Annual McNeese National Works on Paper Exhibition

The 33rd Annual McNeese National Works on Paper Exhibition is open to all artists living in the United States. Work in any medium using paper as a component part is eligible. Artwork, including frame, should not exceed 40" in any dimension. All artwork should be original and completed in the last two years. Artists may submit no more than three entries. The entry fee is $35, which entitles the artist to a maximum of three entries.

The juror is Eleanor Heartney, art critic and contributing editor to Art in America and Artpress. The deadline for receiving all entry submissions is February 14, 2020. Notification of acceptance will be sent February 28, with a deadline for receipt of accepted works on March 13. The exhibition runs March 26 - May 8, 2020, with an opening reception on Thursday, March 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. The juror's gallery talk and awards presentation will be held at 7 p.m. in the Grand Gallery, Shearman Fine Arts Annex. $3,000 will be available for the purchase of works for the McNeese State University Works on Paper Permanent Collection. Awards will be announced at the opening reception.

Accepted artwork must be suitable for formal gallery presentation and the rigors of packaged shipping. Works must be received by March 13 and shipped to: McNeese State University/Dept. of Visual Arts, 4205 Ryan St., Lake Charles, LA 70609. All accepted works must include prepaid return shipping label. Return of artwork begins May 14. A 40 percent commission will be charged on all artists' sales by the Grand Gallery. Each entrant will receive a copy of the exhibition catalog.
