33rd Annual Decatur Fine Arts Exhibition

The Decatur Arts Alliance invites artists working in all media to participate in the 33rd Annual Decatur Fine Arts Exhibition. The exhibition is a juried multimedia presentation that will be held May 25–June 13, 2021, at the Dalton Gallery at Agnes Scott College, 141 E. College Ave., Decatur, Georgia 30030. Currently, an in-person exhibition is planned and available for viewing by appointment to enforce social distancing safety guidelines. In the event of cancellation of an in-person exhibition, artwork will be available for viewing online.

Artists are invited to submit 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional works. All works must be original and completed within the last two years. Artwork will be chosen by a panel of three jurors on the basis of creative excellence and quality of execution. Works to be hung must be ready for hanging with necessary hardware in place and must fit through a standard door. Video presentations are eligible but will be shown on a flat screen or computer monitor. Artists entering installation pieces should be prepared to personally deliver, install, and de-install the work as needed. The entry fee is $30.00 for up to three entries. Work sample requirements: minimum 1 image, maximum 3 images; audio and video submissions are optional (0-3 each); total samples must be between 1-3.

Awards include Best of Show ($1,000), Gold Award ($700), and Silver Award ($500). Purchase awards totaling $2,500 are selected by the City of Decatur, Decatur Business Association, and Decatur Downtown Development Authority for the City of Decatur's public art collection. Sales are encouraged, and the Decatur Arts Alliance collects a 25% commission on all artwork sold. An opening reception is planned for Tuesday, May 25, from 5-7 pm, and a closing reception (Last Call party) is scheduled for Sunday, June 13, from 4-6 pm, which will include selected artists' talks.
