About This Call
The South Cobb Arts Alliance (SCAA) announces the 32nd Annual National Juried Exhibition entitled "America the Beautiful, An Artist's Oasis." The exhibition will be held at the Pat Vaughn Cultural Arts Center, 4181 Atlanta Street, Powder Springs, GA 30127, and will be open to the public from August 5 to 25, 2019. The exhibition is open to all residents of the USA, age 18 or older. Artists may submit up to three original works that have not been previously shown at an SCAA National Juried Exhibition. All works must be priced for sale; NFS works will not be accepted. The entry fee is $45 for up to three works. Diptychs and triptychs are considered one work.
2-D artwork must be no larger than 48" by 48" or smaller than 11" x 14" (including mat and frame), properly framed or gallery wrapped, weigh no more than 25 lbs., and must be wired for hanging. No saw tooth hangers, single nail clips, or clip frames are permitted. Artwork normally framed under glass is acceptable on hand-delivered items only; plexiglass is required on all shipped work. 3-D sculpture including clay, fiber, glass, metal, plaster, stone, wood, and other materials must not exceed 45 pounds and 36" in any direction. Works are juried by digital image only; each 2-D work may be represented by one digital image, and each 3-D work may be represented by up to three separate digital images.
Awards include $1000 First Prize, $500 Second Prize, $250 Third Prize, and two $125 Awards of Excellence. The juror is Ann Cockerill. Hand-delivered work will be accepted on August 2 from 11 am to 4 pm. Shipped work must be received by July 30 at the prescribed Fed Ex holding station. The Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held on August 10 beginning at 5 pm. SCAA retains a 25% commission and adds a 6% sales tax to the price of each work that sells. Shipping artwork to and from the exhibit is the responsibility of the artist.
