311 Gallery BLACK & WHITE Juried Show 2018

311 Gallery, located at 311 West Martin Street in Raleigh, NC, calls for entries to the November 2018 BLACK & WHITE Juried Show. A maximum of two works of art per artist may be entered. The show is open to colorless 2-D or 3-D works of art that have never been previously shown at 311 Gallery. All artwork must consist entirely of black, white, and grays—color is not allowed. Artists may interpret the show title in any way and in any medium, with style options including realistic, abstracted realism, or totally abstract. If pieces contain metal, the metal may be painted black, white, or gray, or be uncoated in its natural silver look; colored metals or coloring of metals is not allowed. Silver-colored metallic paint is allowed.

Entry fee is $30 for up to 2 works of art. Submission deadline is September 21, 2018. Notification of acceptance will be sent September 29, 2018. Accepted art may be received October 25-27 between 12:00 and 4:00 pm. The show runs November 1-December 1, 2018, with a First Friday Opening Reception on November 2, 2018, 6:00-9:00 p.m. Unsold art may be picked up December 1, 2018 between 12:00 and 4:00 p.m.

Selection is based upon the average rating of three jurors using photographs of submitted artworks. Final judging for awards occurs after invited artworks arrive at the gallery. Awards include: 1st Place $300 (winner invited to participate in the 2018 Juried Show Winners Exhibition in February 2019), 2nd Place $200, 3rd Place $100, and Two Honorable Mentions $50 each. All entries must be available and priced for sale. Artists receive 65% on sales; 311 Gallery retains a 35% commission. Maximum artwork sizes: 2-D works maximum width 32 inches, maximum height 72 inches; 3-D works maximum width and depth 16 inches, maximum height 28 inches. Digital JPEG images must be submitted through www.CallForEntry.org, with minimum 1920 pixels on the longest side and not exceeding 5 MB file size.
