311 Gallery 2017 ABSTRACTS MATTER Juried Show

311 Gallery, located at 311 West Martin Street in Raleigh's Warehouse District, invites submissions for the 2017 ABSTRACTS MATTER Juried Show. The gallery hosts monthly themed shows of juried works and maintains 12 studios with over 30 resident artists. Entry fee is $30 for up to two original works of art. Submissions must be made through CAFÉ (www.CallForEntry.org) with a deadline of February 17, 2017.

Artists may submit a maximum of two original works. For 2-D artwork, the size limit is 30x30 inches square (including framing). For 3-D work, the maximum base width and depth is 16 inches with a maximum overall height of 28 inches. Digital JPEG images must be submitted through CAFÉ, with each image at least 1920 pixels on the longest side and not exceeding 5 MB in file size. 2-D artworks must be ready for exhibition with appropriate wiring and D-rings for hanging. Single hangers and unprotected pastels are not allowed. Three-dimensional work must sit solidly on a flat surface or be properly wired for wall hanging.

Accepted artists will be notified on March 3, 2017. Artwork delivery is scheduled for March 30-31 and April 1, 2017 between 11 am and 4 pm. The exhibition runs April 6-29, 2017, with an opening reception on April 7, 2017 from 6-9 pm. Awards include 1st Place $250, 2nd Place $150, and 3rd Place $100. The 1st Place winner will be invited to participate in the 311 Gallery 2017 Juried Show Winners Exhibition in February 2018. Two Honorable Mentions and one People's Choice Award will each receive a certificate for a free entry into a future 311 Gallery juried show. Artists receive 65% of sales, with 311 Gallery retaining a 35% commission. Unsold artwork may be picked up on April 29, 2017 between 11 am and 4 pm.
