311 Gallery 2016 SQUARES Juried Art Show

311 Gallery, located at 311 West Martin Street in downtown Raleigh's Warehouse District, hosts monthly themed and juried exhibitions in its Main Gallery, along with 12 studios featuring over 30 resident artists and a gift shop.

The 2016 SQUARES Juried Art Show is open to two-dimensional and three-dimensional art. Two-dimensional work must be square and not exceed 30 inches on a side. Three-dimensional art must be on a square base not greater than 16 inches on a side, with a total height not exceeding 24 inches. Artists may interpret the show title in any way, from representational to abstract, and in any medium. The subject must be suitable for a general/family audience. Up to two original works may be submitted per entry fee of $30.00. Only original works not previously shown in 311 Gallery's Main Gallery are eligible, and all work must be for sale.

The Opening Reception will be held from 6 to 9 pm on November 4, 2016 as part of First Friday. The gallery is open Thursday-Saturday, November 3-26, from 11:30 to 4:30. Awards include: 1st Place $250 plus participation in the Juried Show Winners Exhibition in February 2017; 2nd Place $150; 3rd Place $100; and two Honorable Mentions and People's Choice awards, each receiving a certificate for a future 311 Gallery juried show. Notification of results will be made on or before October 10, 2016. Artists receive 65% of sales, with 311 Gallery retaining a 35% commission. Accepted works must arrive by 4:00 pm on October 29, 2016. Unsold artwork may be picked up on Saturday, November 26 from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm; unsold work not picked up by this deadline becomes the property of 311 Gallery unless prior arrangements have been made.
