311 Gallery 2016 Photography Juried Art Show

311 Gallery, located at 311 West Martin Street in downtown Raleigh's Warehouse District, hosts monthly themed and juried exhibitions. The gallery also features 12 studios with works by over 30 resident artists and a gift shop offering smaller works by resident and invited artists in ceramic, glass, wood, and painting.

The 2016 Photography Juried Art Show is open to any subject suitable for a general/family audience. Up to two original works may be submitted for a $30 entry fee. Work must be original and not previously shown in 311 Gallery's Main Gallery. Two-dimensional work must be 51 inches in height and 39 inches in width (including framing). All work must be framed or have finished edges, and if subject to damage, must be framed under Plexiglas, acrylic, or glass. Work must be appropriately wired for wall hanging with D-rings; no clip mounting or saw-tooth hangers will be accepted. All submitted work must be for sale, and artists will receive 65% of sales with 311 Gallery retaining a 35% commission.

The opening reception will be held from 6 to 9 pm on October 7, 2016 as part of First Friday. The gallery is open Thursday-Saturday, October 6-29, from 11:30 to 4:30. Awards include 1st Place ($250 plus participation in the Juried Show Winners Exhibition in February 2017), 2nd Place ($150), 3rd Place ($100), and two Honorable Mentions and People's Choice awards (each receiving a certificate for a future 311 Gallery juried show). Jurors are Steve Coad, Paul Cory, and David Spector, all working and exhibiting photographers. Notification of results will be made on or before Monday, September 12, 2016. Accepted works must arrive by 4:00 pm on October 29, 2016, and may be delivered between 11:30 am and 4:00 pm on October 27-29, 2016. Unsold artwork may be picked up on Saturday, November 26 from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm. Unsold artwork not picked up by this deadline becomes the property of 311 Gallery unless prior arrangements have been made.
