30th Annual Maritime Art Exhibition

Coos Art Museum announces the 30th Annual Maritime Art Exhibition, a juried competition open to artists across the country producing original maritime-themed artwork in painting and sculpture. The exhibition is recognized by the American Society of Marine Artists (ASMA). Up to three pieces of work may be submitted through CaFÉ.

Eligibility: Open to all artists producing original maritime-themed art works in painting and sculpture, including members of American Society of Marine Artists and International Society of Marine Painters. Works must be recent creations from 2018 or newer (within the past six years). Works previously exhibited at Coos Art Museum are not eligible. If submitting a work that is part of a series, the piece must be unique and distinguishable from other works. Paintings are limited to 60 inches in any one direction (including frame) with a 20 lb weight limit. Sculpture is limited to 60 inches in any one direction with a 25 lb weight limit. Prints (photo serigraphs, digital or giclée), photography, and paint enhanced giclée prints on canvas are not eligible. Works accepted must match the digital images submitted.

Entry fee is $40.00 with an additional media fee of $15.00 (up to 2 submissions). A panel of 3 artists will jury the submissions. Eight awards will be given: Best of Show ($750), Oregon International Port of Coos Bay Award ($250), Coos Art Museum Board of Directors Choice ($250), People's Choice Award ($250), and 4 Honorable Mention awards. Deadline for submissions is May 3, 2024. Notification of acceptance/rejection is May 17, 2024. Registration/Consent forms are due June 7, 2024. The exhibition opens July 6, 2024 and runs through September 22, 2024. A special 30th Anniversary celebration includes an Artists' Sneak Peek and dinner on July 5, 2024, followed by the Exhibition Opening and Maritime Dinner on July 6, 2024.
