About This Call
This international call seeks photo-based artists who are 50 years of age or older for an online exhibition. The exhibition celebrates artists who have practiced photography for many years as well as those who have recently discovered their artistic talent. Fifty artists will be selected, each contributing a 12-image portfolio.
Submissions must include a 12-image body of work and a short artist statement of 300 words or less. The entry fee is $25.00 for non-members and $20.00 for members. The juror is Gordon Stettinius, founder of Candela Gallery and Candela Books. Selected artists will receive recognition through a Juror's Award (featured speaker for Zoom exhibition conversation), Honorable Mentions (five artists invited to give talks), and six artists selected for 30-minute individual reviews with the juror via Zoom.
The online exhibition runs March 1 - May 31, 2022, with large-scale outdoor projections on May 12, 2022, just after sundown. An exhibition conversation with the juror and artists is scheduled for May 12, 2022, at 5:00 pm Mountain Time. Notification of acceptance will be sent January 31, 2022.
