2nd Annual We're Doing It ALL Wrong® Art Exhibition

The 2nd Annual We're Doing It ALL Wrong® Art Exhibition will open as a one-month long exhibition beginning September 1, 2022, planned by the Edward A. Dixon Gallery. The exhibition seeks to create dialogue and spark ideas related to the many ways humanity continually fails itself. Artists are encouraged to submit work that captures or comments on a tradition, system, practice, institution, or anything they see that needs repair or removal that has existed in this state for far too long. Artwork from the previous year's exhibition touched on topics such as the environment and climate change, dependence on technology, social injustice, Native American women disappearances, and homelessness. Each artist must submit original artwork except in the case of photography. Wall art (paintings, drawings, photography, etc.) must not exceed 50" in width and 50" in height, must be framed if appropriate, and be wired and ready to hang. Each artist may submit one artwork for an entry fee of $35 and one additional piece for a fee of $15. Images submitted must adhere to Café submission requirements. Judging will begin in June and artists will be notified if selected no later than July 22nd. In-person gallery hours will be complemented by an online version of the exhibition. Additional locations may be added after the initial one-month exhibition in Dayton.

Entries will be judged by Ed Dixon, owner and curator of the Edward A. Dixon Gallery, along with two other industry professionals. Award categories include: Best in Show ($500), 2nd Place ($250), and Signature Artwork ($250). All artists 18 years and older are eligible to enter, including international artists. Artists agree to allow submitted artwork to be available for sale with a 20% commission on all sales going to the Edward A. Dixon Gallery. Artists are responsible for all shipping and insurance costs to the gallery; the gallery will be responsible for return shipping costs.
