2nd Annual Taos Abstract Artist Collective Exhibition

Taos Abstract Artist Collective (TAAC) invites artists living and working in Northern New Mexico to participate in its 2nd Annual Group Exhibition, held at the Stables Gallery at the Taos Center for the Arts from October 13–21, 2023. Abstract works across all disciplines are encouraged, including visual arts (painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, photography, ceramics, fiber, wearable art, etc.), video, projection, performance arts, and music/sound composition. As an artist-run collective, 100% of proceeds from art sales go directly to the artists. Submission fees ($35) support operational costs including press materials, event fees, and insurance, with additional funds applied to community programming.

Eligibility is limited to artists living or working in Northern New Mexico. Emerging, mid-career, and established artists or collaborative teams are welcome; artists must be at least 18 years old. Submit 1–3 portfolio samples (images, video, or audio files) along with an artist statement and bio (300 words or less each). Visual artwork in its final installed format must not exceed 4' x 4'. The curatorial team will select works based on gallery space and consistency with the exhibition theme; while the collective aims to include one work from each applicant, space permitting, final selections are determined by the curators.

Key dates: Call open June 10–July 12, 2023 (11:59 p.m. MDT); curatorial review July 10–16; artist notification in July; installation October 11–13; opening reception October 13; closing reception October 21. All work sold during the show remains in the exhibition until after closing. Accepted work may appear in promotional materials and will be featured in printed and digital exhibition catalogs.
