About This Call
This juried art exhibition is open to all artists 18 years and older. All art submitted should be based on or inspired by Islamic art, Islamic literature, Islamic architecture and Islamic cultures and presented in a positive light. 2D media including but not limited to painting, drawing, hand pulled prints, photography, mixed media, fiber art and digital art prints may be submitted. Applicants may submit 1-4 images. Entry fee is $30.00.
The exhibition will be held September 6-28, 2013 at Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing Arts and Corporate Presentations, 2351 Performance Drive, Richardson, Texas 75082. All accepted artwork will be featured on the IARS website for one year from the start date of the exhibition. The juror is Dr. Nada M Shabout, Associate Professor of Art Education and Art History and Director of Contemporary Arab and Muslim Cultural Studies Institute at the University of North Texas. Applicants will be notified of the juror's decision via email on August 20, 2013. First, second and third place winners will be announced at the opening reception on Sunday, September 8, 2013 from 5-7 p.m.
